FAQs

Preparation-related:

  1. How do I make overnight oats? Simply add your preferred milk (dairy or plant-based) to the pouch, mix well, and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours. In the morning, give it a stir and enjoy cold, or warm it up if you prefer. Because there are no binding agents or emulsifiers, these require more shaking and stirring than other brands. Feel free to shake or stir multiple times, it mixes it more.
  2. What's the best milk? Any milk works great and I've tried them all at this point- dairy, oat, almond, coconut, or soy milk all create delicious overnight oats. Every milk also absorbs dissolves the flavors differently- some for better, others for worse. I recommend using about 3/4-1 cup of milk per pouch, adjusting to your preferred consistency. My go-to is 3/4-1 cup of skim milk.  If you are vegan, I'd aim for soy, coconut, and oat in that order. I love oatmilk but with all the oats, it can overpower the flavor. If you are using oat milk, I recommend adding 1 cup because of higher absorption.
  3. What if they're not sweet enough? This product is not meant to be sweet, but just sweet enough. First, I'd recommend adding fresh seasonal fruits for added sugar (see pairing suggestions), and banana is always sweet. With honey or other sweeteners you can sweeten to taste.
  4. What should I make the overnight oats in? You can wash and reuse pint jars (salsa, jelly, etc.). They are portable, shakeable, and more sustainable.  The sealed lid helps prevent spills that occur with common food storage containers.
  5. What if they are too dry/soupy? You can add more milk when you eat it to achieve your desired texture. The following factors may affect absorption: milk type (oat vs. cow), container (flat Tupperware vs. vertical pint jar), and possibly atmospheric pressure (Denver vs. New Orleans).
  6. Can I eat these overnight oats in the bag/pouch? Customers are reporting that they are using the bag to make the oats. Do so at your own risk as I did not design the product packaging for this purpose and cannot guarantee it won't leak or fall over and spill.
  7. Once I put milk in the mix, how long does it last? After adding milk, your overnight oats will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Always store in the fridge and check for any off smells or appearance before consuming.
  8. How long will the product last in the pouch (the unopened shelf life)? All of the ingredients have a shelf-life of 12-18 months. However, fresher is better. It would be best to eat these within 6 months.
  9. Can I add other things? Yes! Have fun, experiment, and send me a message or share your fining on social media!

What is the nutritional content (i.e., sugars, protein)/why is that label not included with grams of protein, sugar, etc.? This a very new, boutique superfoods business and the final product is almost finalized. I expect to have nutritional labeling by the end of the year of the products are a success. Based on my conversations with chatbots, I currently estimate between 12-5 grams of protein in each pouch and it is only lightly sweetened.
